Sausage Plait

This is like a giant sausage roll, made with sausage meat and puff pastry and served with gravy, potatoes and peas. 
250g Pork Sausage meat
250g Puff Pastry
1 egg (beaten)
Vegetables of your choice (e.g. peas/carrots/broccoli)
Vegetarian Organic Gravy Powder
New Potatoes
Preheat the oven to 180 degrees.
Roll out the pastry into a large rectangle, about 5 inches wide.  
Then use your hands to roll the sausagement into a long sausage the same length as the pastry rectangle.  Place the sausagement in the middle and brush the pastry with the egg. 
Then use a knife to cut sloped strips into the pastry.  Place these strips alternately over the sausagement - to create a plait effect, brush the top of the plait with the egg and bake in the oven for 30 minutes at 180 degrees. 
While it is in the oven cook potatoes and other vegetables as required. 
Make gravy as per packet instructions.
Once the plait is cooked serve all together.
