Flapjacks are incredibily popular and can easily be made dairy and soya free, check the ingredients that you buy and ensure that you use suitable margarine (e.g. vitalite) an make according to the usual recipe.
200g Porridge Oats
100g appropriate Margarine
75g Sugar
4 level tbs golden syrup
A pinch of salt
Melt the margarine in a large saucepan.
Add the syrup and warm for a couple of minutes.
Meanwhile mix the sugar, salt and oats.
Remove syrup mixture from the heat and stir in the oats - make sure they are all completely covered by syrup.
Grease a shallow baking tray an sppon in the mixture - spread it evenly and cook in the oven at 180 degrees (Gas mark 4) for 15-25 minutes.
