Other names for dairy and soya in ingredients
One thing to be aware of is that although food manufacturers are required by law to put ingredients on the packaging there are a number of different names for dairy and soya which I have detailed below for you, as some are not immediately obvious:
  • Milk
  • Skimmed Milk powder (non-fat)
  • Low fat milk solids
  • Separated milk solids
  • Milk Solids

Another thing to be aware of is that some 'low-cal' olive oil sprays actually contain soya and it is therefore necessary to check everything that you're using.

Some other E numbers which often contain soya are E426, E479 and E479b.

I have included the detail in summary form, however for further detail and information in terms of ingredients please take a look at the CMPA (Cow's Milk Protein Allergy) support page, it contains more comprehensive information as well as downloadable PDF files with the information.
